What ClearCDM does
One specialism: the CDM 2015 principal designer role and the documents that come with it. Everything below is either part of that appointment or sits directly beside it.
CDM principal designerClients, and designers placing the roleThe full statutory appointment under regulation 5 of CDM 2015. Planning and coordinating health and safety through the pre-construction phase, the pre-construction information, the design risk coordination and the health and safety file.Pre-construction informationPart of every appointmentStructured collection from the client, the designers and the site visit, brought into one project record and written up as a document about your building rather than a template with the address changed.Health and safety fileProjects with more than one contractorThe file the building keeps: what a future project needs to know about this one. Compiled through the works and handed over at practical completion.F10 notificationLarger and longer projectsWorking out whether the project actually reaches the notification threshold, and submitting the F10 to HSE on the client's behalf where it does.Construction phase plan supportContractors and principal contractorsThe plan stays the contractor's document and the contractor's duty. What we do is give them the project information to write it from, and say plainly what a proportionate plan for this job looks like.Client CDM supportCommercial clients, landlords, developersFor commercial clients and landlords who keep their own duties: what the appointments are, what information you owe the project, and what has to be in place before work starts.
What ClearCDM does not do
Saying this plainly is part of the service, because the two commonest ways a small project ends up with a gap are a document nobody owns and a role everybody assumed somebody else had.
| Not included | Whose it is |
|---|---|
| The Building Regulations principal designer role | A separate appointment under Part 2A of the Building Regulations 2010. The difference explained |
| Running the site, or the site's health and safety | The principal contractor, under regulations 12 to 14 |
| Writing the construction phase plan | The principal contractor, or on a single contractor project the contractor, under regulation 12(1) or 15(5) |
| A commercial client's own client duties | The commercial client. They are not transferable, and we never price for them |
| Architectural or engineering design | Your design team. ClearCDM does not design |
